CAE: Material property settings in the plastic domain

Approximate the plasticity domain with a single straight line! We will use a method called "two-line approximation" to reduce computation time.

Many resins have properties in both the elastic region and the plastic region. In the elastic region, the strain returns to zero when the stress is removed, resulting in linear behavior. However, in the plastic region, the strain does not return to zero when the stress is removed, leading to nonlinear behavior. To perform calculations in the nonlinear region during structural analysis, it is necessary to input material properties. However, inputting properties for the nonlinear region requires entering strain values for each stress point, which is quite cumbersome. Additionally, the computation time becomes longer. To simplify the input of material properties, we use a method called "two-line approximation" to shorten the computation time. This approach replaces the properties of the resin from the yield point to the fracture point with a single straight line (tangent modulus). This method is particularly suitable for quickly checking design values in models with a large number of elements and significant computational scale. *For more details, please refer to the related links or feel free to contact us.*

For the analysis of civil structures, general-purpose structural analysis software 'ISCEF'

It is a structural analysis software (CAE) specialized for civil engineering structures such as dams and related structures. It can handle coupled analysis of structures and fluids, as well as slip stability analysis.

"ISCEF" is a general-purpose structural analysis code developed independently by our company using the finite element method. It excels in the analysis of ground, rock, and related structures due to its dynamic analysis coupling capabilities for structures and fluids, as well as its crack tracking functionality for concrete structures. However, it also demonstrates sufficient functionality in general structural analysis due to its high versatility (including two-dimensional and three-dimensional problems, static and dynamic problems, linear and nonlinear problems, etc.). We have a proven track record not only for the main dam but also for various ancillary structures such as steel gates, dam intake towers, and gate pillars. Leveraging the strengths of our in-house development, we can also accommodate detailed customization based on your requests. Additionally, we offer contracted analysis services using the same software. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

[CAE Solution Case] Visualization of Vacuum/Pressure Forming

Technical data presentation in progress! Achieving reduction of rework through ASU/V-Struct analysis.

We would like to introduce a CAE solution case using the structural analysis software 'ASU/V-Struct' for visualizing vacuum/pressure forming. In vacuum/pressure forming, heated resin sheets are pressed against molds for shaping. As a result, variations in the thickness of the molded products are likely to occur, and if the thickness becomes extremely thin, issues such as insufficient strength arise, leading to defective products. Additionally, defects such as wrinkles on the molded products can occur. If such problems can be identified and addressed in advance through analysis, it can reduce rework related to defects and help control labor costs. We provide detailed information about our products and services in a PDF document, so please take a look. 【Case Overview (Partial)】 ■Challenges - Unable to predict the thickness of the molded products - Want to understand how the material adheres to the mold - Defective products have emerged, and we want to investigate/improve *For more details, please download the PDF or feel free to contact us.

[ASU/V-Struct Implementation Case] Kawanishi Industrial Co., Ltd.

Technical data presentation in progress! Practical application of simulation technology for improving the automotive headlining molding process.

We would like to introduce a case study of the implementation of the structural analysis software 'ASU/V-Struct' at Kawanishi Industrial Co., Ltd., a global comprehensive manufacturer. At the company, due to the viscoelastic nature of the headlining (ceiling material) molding, it was difficult to make predictions through simulations, resulting in significant time and costs for evaluations using actual parts, which posed challenges to development speed. After the implementation, factors related to moldability were identified, and pre-simulation evaluations became possible, leading to a significant improvement in production stability, with almost no need for rework after molding. Details of the expected effects of CAE and the development overview can be found in the PDF document, so please take a look. [Challenges] ■ Significant time and costs incurred for evaluations using actual parts ■ Increased demand for further improvement in development speed *For more details, please download the PDF or feel free to contact us.
